Center offers Hospital-Based Outpatient Wound Care

(HENDERSON, NV, May 14, 2008) - Renovations at the St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Wound Healing Center, located at 106 East Lake Mead Parkway, Suite 107, have been completed.

"Approximately five million Americans suffer from wounds that won't heal due to contributing factors that range from age, diet, smoking and circulatory problems to diabetes, arthritis and kidney disease," said Rod Davis, president, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals. "The recently-completed renovations to our Wound Healing Center will enable St. Rose to accommodate more patients and improve their entire treatment experience."

Changes at the Center include:

  • increasing the number of hyperbaric chambers from 2 to 3;
  • adding a fifth exam room with wheelchair accessibility;
  • adding a separate entrance that accommodates wheelchair patients; and
  • tripling the size of the waiting room and adding a wheelchair accessible restroom.

"The Wound Healing Center at St. Rose offers hospital based outpatient wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and specialized treatment of chronic wounds and nonresponsive conditions such as diabetic leg ulcers, pressure ulcers or bed sores, bone infections, post-operative wounds and burns," said Heidi Montgomery, program director. "The overall appearance of the center has been brightened to make it a more cheerful experience. Our patients also enjoy the extra space and clean, fresh look of the new center."
